We are working hard to ensure a safe environment for our families — REVIEW our COVID-19 Safety Plan!

Our COVID-19 Safety Plan

At TTLC we take the safety of our children, staff, and families very seriously. From the very start of the pandemic, we have followed all guidance from the State of Illinois' Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) for keeping everyone safe and healthy no matter how challenging it was and we do not plan to stop now. You can trust us to strictly enforce all COVID protocols for as long as they are required.

Under the DCFS Minimum Guidance for the Health and Safety of Children During COVID and the Restore Illinois Phase 5 plan from the governor’s office all licensed childcare centers in the state of Illinois are required to adhere to the following masking rules.

  • All children two and older, staff, parents, and all other individuals are required to wear a mask over their mouth and nose when on our premises
  • Children may remove their masks to eat, nap, and when playing on the playground
  • Staff may remove their masks in a designated adult-only lunch area and when on the playground
  • These rules are regardless of vaccination status
  • We have been informed in writing this will continue “for the foreseeable future”

All licensed childcare facilities in the state of Illinois, including Toddle Towne Learning Centers, are regulated and licensed by DCFS. We are mandated to adhere to their rules and regulations. These rules are not superseded by the CDC or any other governing agency.

SANITATION

Parents can take comfort knowing TTLC has always made sanitation a top priority in accordance with DCFS standards, but we have stepped up our efforts to meet the challenge of COVID 19. Every classroom will be sanitized thoroughly prior to opening every day and at least once each morning, during naptime, again each afternoon, and once more prior to closing each day. Playground equipment will be thoroughly sanitized after every use.

Surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, countertops toys, phones, keyboards, computer mouse, and other items identified as frequently handled will be thoroughly sanitized repeatedly throughout the day. Whenever possible sanitizing will be done when the children are not present.

Curriculum

In all the planning and preparation required to meet the new State requirements, our directors and teachers kept our standard of “Kids learning while they play and playing while they learn” as a top priority. This is an unsettled time for young children, and we’ve made it our goal to ease that stress as much as possible.

Working closely with our DCFS representatives, we are re-establishing routines where possible while staying flexible to meet ever-changing requirements as they are released. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated as adjustments are made. Working together we will keep our children safe and happy.
